The Role

The Finance Manager owns the day to day finance function, leads the month end close, and ensures statutory and listing rule compliance for the Group. The role is second in command to the CFOO and a credible business partner to product, technology and commercial leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run a clean and on time month end close, and produce IFRS compliant management accounts within agreed deadlines.
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting disclosures for Board, LuSE and SEC reporting.
  • Lead the annual external audit and act as primary liaison with auditors, tax advisors and regulators.
  • Manage cash, treasury, FX exposure and banking relationships, and maintain a rolling thirteen week cash forecast.
  • Own the budgeting and forecasting cycle, and deliver variance analysis with commercial commentary.
  • Strengthen internal controls, segregation of duties and the financial control environment across all revenue streams.
  • Oversee tax compliance covering VAT, PAYE, WHT and corporate tax, and manage all ZRA correspondence and audits.
  • Supervise, coach and develop the accounts team, and raise the technical bar across the function.
  • Partner with operating teams on revenue assurance, unit economics and contract profitability.
  • Drive automation of finance workflows and improve the integrity of data flowing from operating systems into the General Ledger.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • ACCA / CIMA qualified.
  • Member in good standing with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
  • Minimum five (5) years post qualification work experience in finance
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS, Zambian tax legislation and the Companies Act.
  • Advanced Excel and hands on experience with a modern ERP or accounting system.
  • Prior exposure to a listed entity, audit firm (Big 4 or mid tier) or technology environment will be a strong advantage.
