Background

Roland Imperial Tobacco Company Limited (RITCO) is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, and highly disciplined professional to join our executive team as Finance Manager. As a key leader within our operations, you will be responsible for safeguarding the company’s financial health, ensuring rigorous statutory compliance, and driving operational efficiency through meticulous cost control and risk management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Financial Management: Drive the company’s financial planning by overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and the implementation of daily/weekly "Budget vs. Actuals" reporting.
  • Cost Control: Monitor operational expenditures and hold department heads accountable for cost variances, ensuring all spend remains within approved fiscal parameters.
  • Statutory & Regulatory Compliance: Manage and oversee all tax-related matters, including ZRA audits, Time to Pay Agreements (TPA), and ensuring timely returns for NHIMA, NAPSA, and other statutory bodies.
  • Risk & Debt Management: Enforce strict Debtors Management Protocols to reduce credit risk and enhance cash flow. Proactively model fiscal impacts, such as changes in excise taxes, to ensure business continuity.
  • Administrative Integration: Work closely with the Chief Operations Officer to roll out and manage the Employee Performance Assessment System and oversee administrative financial controls.
  • Audit Coordination: Lead the preparation for internal and external audits, ensuring all records are accurate, transparent, and compliant with international financial reporting standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Academic Background: Full Grade 12 Certificate with credits or better.
  • Professional Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA) is mandatory.
  • Professional Membership: Must be a current and active member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
  • Minimum Experience: At least 5–7 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within the manufacturing or FMCG sector.
  • Knowledge Base: Deep understanding of Zambian tax laws, ZRA systems (Smart Invoice), and debt restructuring processes.
