JOB DETAILS:

To provide professional firefighting and emergency response services, ensuring the protection of life, property, and the environment through effective prevention, preparedness, and response measures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Emergency Response:
• Execute rapid and effective fire suppression operations in plant and building fires
• Perform technical rescue operations in emergency situations
• Operate all firefighting equipment including pumps, hoses, and breathing apparatus

Prevention & Preparedness:
• Conduct regular fire drills and emergency simulations
• Deliver fire safety awareness training to staff across all departments
• Inspect and test fire protection systems (hydrants, extinguishers, alarms)

Equipment & Facility Maintenance:
• Maintain firefighting vehicles and equipment in ready-state
• Monitor water supplies and pressure systems for fire protection
• Assist in procurement of fire safety equipment as directed

Collaboration & Coordination:
• Liaise with security teams during emergency situations
• Coordinate with municipal fire services and medical responders
• Participate in joint emergency preparedness exercises

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Certification:
✓ Grade 12 Certificate (ZAQA verified)
✓ Basic Fire Fighter Certification (ZAQA verified)
✓ Valid Class C1 Driver's License

Physical Requirements:
• Excellent physical fitness and stamina
• Ability to work at heights and confined spaces
• Capacity to wear full protective gear (30kg+)

Experience & Skills:
• 3+ years professional firefighting experience
• Experience in industrial/mining environment preferred
• Basic first aid/emergency medical skills
