JOB DETAILS:
ExpressCredit Zambia, a registered non-Deposit taking financial institution is inviting suitably qualified, competent, highly motivated and sober minded individual based in Lusaka to fill the positions of Gardener.
Key Objective:
To perform a range of various General Worker labouring tasks to comprise Gardening, Cleaning and Maintenance of the assigned location outdoor grounds ensuring that the condition and appearance of the external grounds, lawns and other areas are free from trash, liter, debris, weeds and that they are maintained at the highest standard.
The gardener will also assist in ensuring that the office spaces, surfaces, and surroundings are kept clean and tidy at all times and assist in general office clerical duties.

Summary Key Responsibilities:
• Take charge of the outdoor grounds ensuring that the condition and appearance of the external grounds, lawns and other areas are free from trash, litter, debris, weeds and are maintained to the highest standard.
• Perform basic maintenance such as, fertilizing, trimming, cutting the grass/ green spaces, emptying bins, managing weed control and leaf raking.
• Plant and nurture new trees, flowers, and various plants
• Maintain all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers
• Monitor and maintain the health of plants
• Deal with pest problems that could damage plants
• Provide guidance to management on matters related to the garden.
• Ensure that the office spaces, surfaces, floors, and surroundings are kept clean and in orderly condition by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming etc.
• Ensure that all dust bins/shredders in designated areas are emptied on time and clean.
• Assist in ensuring that the restrooms, water dispensers are fully and well stocked.
• Assist washing of office crockery and cutlery excluding personal crockery and cutlery
• Notify management of any occurring deficiencies or needs to repair.
• Ensure a safe environment for staff and clients by adhering to safety and health regulations
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time in line with the needs of the business.

Experience and Requirements
• Grade Twelve Certificate or better
• Certificate in Horticulture will be an added advantage
• At least One year operating experience in gardening/cleaning
• Basic knowledge in landscaping, cleaning, gardening and climates
• At least one year experience as a Gardner
• Knowledge of effective gardening and cleaning techniques, materials and tools.
• Physically fit and able to manage small and heavy loads
• Thoroughness and detail oriented

• The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time
