Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on General Foreman to take full charge of site operations. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in large-scale earthworks and general civil construction. You will be responsible for supervising the entire site, coordinating between multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that all works—from site clearance to complex concrete structures—are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Supervision:Oversee all site activities including site clearing, grubbing, topsoil stripping, bulk earthworks (cut and fill), and road construction.

Earthworks Expertise:Direct and supervise excavation for foundations, drainage ditches (V-shape and trapezoidal), and culvert installations. Ensure proper compaction of formation layers and sub-base to specified densities (e.g., 95% MOD AASHTO).

Concrete Works Management:Supervise concreting teams for reinforced concrete slabs, foundations, walls, columns, and cast-in-situ drainage channels. Ensure correct formwork installation, reinforcement placement, and curing practices.

Plant & Machinery Management:Efficiently manage and schedule heavy plant including excavators, graders, rollers, tippers, and concrete mixers. Conduct daily checks to ensure machinery is utilized effectively and maintained.

Health & Safety:Enforce strict safety protocols across the site. Conduct toolbox talks and ensure all personnel work in compliance with safety regulations, particularly during heavy excavation and roadworks.

Quality Control:Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications (e.g., concrete grades C20/C30, excavation dimensions, and drainage slopes).

Labor Coordination:Manage labor force, allocate tasks, and resolve on-site conflicts to maintain productivity.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a General Foreman in civil construction, with specific expertise in earthworks and roadworks.

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOQs.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Knowledge of concrete works and structural installation is highly desirable.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.
