GEOLOGIST X01
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting geological surveys, analysing data, and supporting mining/exploration operations through accurate geological interpretation. Working closely with both geologists and data scientists in Zambia.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and logging activities.
- Planning and conducting exploration programs on our properties.
- Data acquisition and preparation of technical reports.
- Monitoring drilling and exploration programmes.
- Ore control and mining.
- Estimate mineral resources and reserves.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental standards.
- Leads and organises key activities for reducing/ controlling ore dilution and loss.
- Identifying and developing feasible metal opportunities, including near-mine mineral resource development.
Qualification and Experience Required:
- A recognised geoscience tertiary qualification (Degree in Geology) or related field.
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years relevant experience in mining and exploration.
Technical experience:
- Geological data collection.
- Database management
- Geology knowledge, modelling and problem solving.
- Geostatistics.
- Ore Control.
Skills Required:
- Excellent management skills.
- Strong leadership skills for motivating, goal setting and decision making.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strategic thinking for identifying trends and longer-term planning.
- Knowledge of relevant production software is an advantage (Datamine, Leapfrog, Surpac, mine scheduling software and other mining software).
