Job Purpose

To mobilize, coordinate, support, and supervise Village Banking groups for effective group formation, loan administration and adherence to institutional policies, while promoting financial inclusion and group sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobilize and register Village Banking groups in assigned communities.
  • Train group members on Village Banking principles, loan procedures, savings culture, and group governance.
  • Coordinate group meetings, loan disbursements, repayments, and savings collections.
  • Monitor group performance, loan utilization, and repayment behavior.
  • Maintain accurate group records, attendance registers, and repayment schedules.
  • Resolve group conflicts and chair disciplinary or default issues.
  • Educate members on financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills.
  • Submit timely reports on group activities, portfolio quality, and challenges.

Qualifications and Experience

Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Development Studies, Social Work or related field.

At least 2 years’ experience in microfinance, community development, or group-based lending.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Community engagement and mobilization skills.
  • Basic financial and record-keeping skills.
  • Integrity, patience, and ability to work in rural/field conditions.
  • Must be self motivated and a self starter
