Position: HR Manager – Employee Relations Focus
Location: Zambia Lusaka South Multi‑Facility Economic Zone
Salary: ZMW 30,000 – 40,000 per month The work schedule is 5.5 days per week.Jobs in Zambia
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Case Management
- Lead all employee relations initiatives, including disciplinary actions, workplace disputes, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Prepare and issue warning letters, disciplinary documents, and performance improvement plans in compliance with company policies and Zambian labor laws.
- Represent the company in labor office matters and coordinate with relevant authorities when employee cases escalate.
- Maintain impartiality while managing sensitive employee issues, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of policies.
HR Operations & Recruitment
- Oversee recruitment processes, from job posting, candidate sourcing, interviewing, to onboarding.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions, competency frameworks, and workforce planning strategies.
- Partner with line managers to identify talent gaps and implement retention strategies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Support payroll and benefits administration, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company policies.
- Review and recommend improvements to compensation structures and HR programs to attract and retain top talent.
Compliance & Policy Implementation
- Ensure all HR practices comply with Zambian labor laws and internal policies.
- Conduct training for managers and employees on HR policies, labor law compliance, and disciplinary processes.
- Monitor and improve HR processes to minimize risks and improve employee engagement.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate employee records, case documentation, and HR reports.
- Analyze HR trends and employee relations data to recommend preventive measures to senior management.
- Proactively identify HR risks and provide professional recommendations.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years in HR, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, primarily focused on employee relations.
- Proven experience in large-scale manufacturing operations (500+ employees), preferably in companies like Trade Kings or Big Trade.
- Solid understanding of Zambian labor laws, HR policies, disciplinary procedures, and dispute resolution processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience in recruitment, payroll, and benefits administration.
Preferred:
- Experience implementing HR initiatives in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Ability to handle complex employee relations cases while balancing operational needs and compliance requirements.
