JOB DETAILS:

Orezone Mining Trading is seeking a highly skilled and detailed oriented Head Laboratory Technician to lead our materials testing and quality assurance operations. The successful candidate will oversee all laboratory processes, ensuring that materials meet the highest standards of performance, durability, and safety for industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise engineers and production teams on the correct selection and application of metals for specific uses.
• Conduct quality tests and analysis on metals and other materials used in new and existing products.
• Utilize ultrasonic, radiographic, and other non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to evaluate material integrity.
• Interpret test results from radiographs, meters, and other diagnostic instruments to identify potential defects or deviations.
• Maintain testing records and generate technical reports for management and engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
• Supervise laboratory staff and coordinate workflow to meet operational timelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related field. (Master’s Degree will be an added advantage)
• Proven experience in metal testing, materials evaluation, or quality control (preferably in an industrial or mining environment).
• Proficiency in non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques such as ultrasonic and radiographic methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex data accurately.
• Leadership experience will be an added advantage.
