Background
United Gypsum Investments Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced Zambian candidates to fill the following positions at our MONZE MINE Site:
Job Purpose
The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and continuously improving health and safety systems across mining operations and the gypsum processing plant to ensure compliance and support the company’s zero-harm objective.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement site-specific HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments across the mine site.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
- Conduct safety inductions and training for staff and contractors.
- Monitor PPE usage and safe work practices.
- Coordinate emergency drills and safety audits.
- Prepare monthly safety performance reports.
- Promote a strong workplace safety culture.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the mining or construction industry.
- Valid ZOHSA Practicing Licence.
- Valid Silicosis Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of Zambian mining safety legislation.
- Strong investigation and report writing skills.
