About Us

OLIBUL Investments Limited is a proudly Zambian, citizen-owned company with over a decade of operations in sand mining, limestone quarrying, industrial minerals, and cross-border bulk haulage freight across the North-Western Province and the regional SADC corridor. Our equipment is the backbone of our business, and we are looking for a skilled professional to help keep it running safely and reliably.

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Auto-Electrician to diagnose, repair, and maintain the electrical, electronic, and diagnostic systems across our fleet of heavy-duty haulage trucks, earthmoving machinery, and quarry plant — minimising downtime and ensuring operational safety in a demanding mining and long-haul environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting — Use manufacturer-specific diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve electrical, electronic, and wiring faults across the fleet.
  • Component Repair — Test, repair, and replace alternators, starters, batteries, lighting systems, sensors, control panels, and wiring harnesses.
  • Preventive Maintenance — Conduct routine electrical inspections and scheduled PMs on Volvo, Mercedes-Benz Actros (MP4), and DongFeng haulage trucks, and on SDLG front-end loaders and earthmoving equipment.
  • System Integration — Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot electronic control modules, transmission systems, and CAN bus communication networks.
  • Quarry & Plant Support — Assist with the electrical maintenance of static and mobile quarry equipment, including crushing and screening plant motors, conveyors, lighting plants, and site generators.
  • Compliance & Safety — Adhere strictly to all workshop safety policies, mine-site protocols, and environmental regulations, working safely within a silica-dust and heavy-machinery environment.
  • Reporting & Parts Management — Compile accurate technical reports, prepare spare-parts requisitions, and update maintenance logs on completion of every job.

Minimum Requirements

  • Craft Certificate or Diploma in Auto-Electrical Engineering or Heavy Equipment Repair from a recognised institution
  • TEVETA Trade Test certification (an advantage)
  • Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience working specifically with Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, and DongFeng heavy trucks, and SDLG earthmoving equipment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Working knowledge of CAN bus systems and modern truck electronics
  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate
