Kariba Minerals Limited is a mining company and has long been a reliable source of high-quality Amethyst for major manufacturers of gemstones and related products. The company’s market share is estimated at over 90% of the Amethyst originating from Zambia, and we are arguably the largest single Amethyst producer in the world. Presently, the company exports mainly to China and India. Worldwide, it is one of the oldest mines for semi-precious stones and one of the largest sources of quality amethysts. Kariba mine is based in Mapatizya which is approximately 110km from Kalomo in the Southern Province. The company is therefore seeking applications from highly motivated, result oriented, qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacancy:
Human Resource Officer

Key Responsibilities
• Recruitment, selection, training and staff development
• Advising line managers and other employees on employment law and the employer’s own employment policies and procedures
• Administering of staff compensation, benefits including the monitoring of staff leave days to required levels
• Responsible for execution of the company payroll on time
• Monitoring staff performance and attendance
• Organizing staff training sessions and activities
• Monitoring health, safety and welfare of all employees
• General day to day performance of human resource and administration functions
• Collective bargaining and handling of other union matters
• Handle disciplinary issues
• Management of the canteen, guest houses and guest house staff
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the company

Qualification, Experience & other attributes
• Member of ZIHRM
• Dip in HRM or related field from a reputable institution. Degree is an added advantage
• Knowledge of the Zambian Labor Laws, HR Policies & Procedures
• Strong communication skills (interpersonal and report writing)
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications
• Not less than 3 years ’practical experience in Human Resource. Mining industry is an added advantage
• Highly motivated self-starter; well organized; resourceful; works well as part of a team
• Easy adaptation to a new environment
Salary: Negotiable with a flexible work pattern
Location: Mapatizya in Southern Province

Level of Education:
Associate Degree
