Background
Be That Girl (BTG) is a philanthropic organization dedicated to helping adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) lead self-determined lives. We provide holistic support to AGYW from secondary education to post-secondary pathways, focusing on scholarships, mentoring, skills training, and community-based support systems.
The Foundation is opening a Pathway Centre in Lusaka to help young women who have completed secondary education with BTG support successfully transition into post-secondary pathways. The Centre will equip them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to enter into one or more of the 3 Es: Entrepreneurship, higher Education and Employment.
Digital skills are central to the vision of the Centre to empower young women to succeed post-secondary. With this in mind, we are looking for a passionate ICT Trainer who will equip our participants with practical digital skills for the next step in their lives.

Job Description
Purpose of the Role
The ICT Trainer will train young women who have recently completed Grade Twelve with BTG support on digital skills for employability, entrepreneurship, and further education. This role is expected to deliver high-quality ICT training and coaching, ensuring learners acquire relevant technical competencies, confidence, and workplace readiness. This role will also be responsible for providing high-quality maintenance of all ICT equipment at the Centre.
Key Responsibilities
Participant-facing
Develop lesson plans and training materials for young women with none to basic ICT knowledge. The training should cover, among other topics:
- Computer fundamentals
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Email and other digital communication tools
- Basic A.I. use and coding
- ICT tools for job readiness (CV writing, online job applications, online interviews)
Deliver structured ICT training to groups of 20-40 young women at a time, in the Centre’s computer lab, ensuring they become confident ICT users. Conduct practical sessions and assessments
Support learners in leveraging ICT tools for job readiness (groups and 1:1 support for CV writing, online job applications, online interviews)
Provide support and advice to encourage learners, ensuring they progress in the course.
Ensure inclusive participation of all learners.
Proactively keep the contents of the training up to date with job market and participants’ needs.
Internal
Support the Centre’s management in procuring equipment with high quality/price ratio.
Track and report on learner progress.
Maintain inventory of ICT equipment, conducting regular checks after each coaching session.
Install, configure, and maintain computers and networks in the lab.
Regular servicing of computers and other IT equipment at the Centre.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Perform routine system updates and backups.
Ensure cybersecurity and data protection practices.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Degree in ICT, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in ICT training or teaching.
Desirable
- Certification in digital skills training (added advantage)
- Experience working with youth

- Strong computer and digital literacy skills
- Excellent training and facilitation skills
- Ability to simplify technical concepts
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and mentoring ability
- Basic classroom management skills
- Monitoring and reporting skills
- Growth mindset with high ownership of tasks.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build rapport with young women from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding.
Remuneration Package
