Job Description

The Non-Executive Director will support the Board in setting strategic direction, strengthening governance structures, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The NED will bring independent oversight, professional expertise, and objective judgement to board deliberations.

The Bank invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals and business practitioners to be considered for appointment as Independent Non-Executive Directors on its Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent input on strategy, performance, risk, and governance matters.
  • Attend and actively contribute to Board and Committee meetings.
  • Ensure the bank meets its legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations.
  • Monitor financial controls, risk management, and internal audit effectiveness.
  • Support executive leadership while holding management accountable.

Desired Profile:

  • Experience at senior executive or board level in financial services.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, risk, finance, or digital transformation.
  • Familiarity with the Bank of Zambia’s corporate governance and prudential standards.
  • Proven integrity, independence, and good judgment.
  • Board or governance training/certification is an added advantage.
