Description

Our client in the Agricultural sector seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to join the team. The Internal Auditor will be responsible for supporting the organization’s audit processes by assessing and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying areas of risk, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s assets and promoting operational efficiency.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with laws, and accuracy of financial records.
• Identify risks and areas for process improvement, recommending corrective actions.
• Evaluate financial statements and accounting practices to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, risks, and recommendations.
• Assist in the development of audit plans and schedules.
• Ensure all audit procedures adhere to company policies and statutory requirements.
• Collaborate with management to resolve audit issues and follow up on action plans.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations affecting the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), ACCA, or CPA preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in auditing preferably in an internal audit role.
• Must be a valid and compliant member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Zambia (IIA Zambia)
• Membership with Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZiCA) is also preferred.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, risk management and corporate governance.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
