Job Purpose
The Inventory Controller will responsible for the effective management, control, and safeguarding of all inventory held in the hotel’s central stores. Ensure accurate stock records, timely processing of inventory transactions, and efficient coordination between stores, purchasing, and user departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory management policies, procedures, and standards
- Analyze and report on inventory levels, trends, and discrepancies
- Ensure GRNs and return notes are processed in the system.
- Verify goods received are properly authorized.
- Ensure supplier invoices are submitted within 24 hours.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize inventory levels, reduce stockouts and overstocking, and improve overall inventory management
- Maintain cleanliness in line with HACCP.
- Enforce safety and hygiene standards.
- Develop and manage inventory budgets and forecasts
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Supervise and train inventory staff to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management
- Conduct regular inventory audits and physical counts to ensure accurate inventory levels
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve inventory management

Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in inventory/stores management or related role with either a hotel and well-established lodge
- Proven experience in a similar role within a hospitality environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on achieving results and meeting deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments
- Proficiency in inventory management software and technology platforms
- Ability to lift up to 15 kgs and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
