Job description:
The Junior Engineer, Networks will safely execute high level Instrument and Control Network maintenance & installation work according to prescribed standards and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide guidance and leadership to the Instrumentation team, ensure the FQM way and Safety awareness message is well understood, accepted & practiced.
• Installation of new Instrument and Control Networks; replacement of redundant Instrument and Control Networks, as per the Company and vendor’s safety and quality specifications.
• Document and Ensure all Instrument and Control Network drawings are up to date.
• Adhere to the companies planned and preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Effectively maintain the Instrument and Control Network equipment, with the minimum effect on the plant production.
• Compile a detailed report on all activities, plans, costs and labour.
• Report all incidents immediately to the Superintendent.
• Ensure that stock levels of Network equipment are maintained in the warehouse.
• Create new stock for all critical items, to ensure minimum effect on production in the event of a failure.
• Record and control all replacement of tools.
• Oversee the maintain the highest safety standard on the condition and usage of all Instrument Network test equipment
• Provide and schedule all necessary training for all the employees to comply with all safety standards and statutory compliance.
• Identify needs for specialised training requirements within your area.
• Any other duties as directed by the Instrumentation Superintendent.

Qualifications & Experience
• Degree / Diploma – Instrumentation/Electronics; or similar in Industrial software systems
• Valid LV Driver’s License.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Mining Plant environment working as a Network Technician
• Excellent knowledge of Industrial Ethernet and Field Bus Networks and other related communications protocols.
• Excellent knowledge of Fibre Networks, Fibre Splicing and Fibre Test equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of Profibus DP & PA, as well as Profinet, field devices.
• Good Knowledge of Network and Cyber Security principals.
• Experience in managing DNS/AD systems.
• Knowledge of CitectSCADA system would be advantageous.
• Industrial Network configuration, installation & maintenance.
• Knowledge of Control systems, preferably Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal systems, will be advantageous.
• Configuration of Windows endpoint stations.
• Good knowledge of Avigilon CCTV systems.
• Good knowledge on the use of measuring instruments.
• Reading and Drafting of P&ID, as well as Networks and Electrical drawings.
• Any Network related Training courses.
