Manganese Processing Plant and a Steel Manufacturing Facility. Our mission is to deliver high-quality materials to local and international markets, with a focus on safety, innovation, and sustainability. As we expand, we are seeking 9 qualified Laboratory Technician to join our technical team and support our operations with precise and timely laboratory analysis.
Position Overview:
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for conducting material testing and quality control procedures for both the manganese and steel operations. This role requires hands-on experience in laboratory procedures, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of metallurgical and mineral testing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and non-routine laboratory tests on manganese ore, alloys, steel, and other materials.
- Prepare, analyze, and report on samples using standard procedures and laboratory equipment (AAS, XRF, titration, etc.).
- Support process control and quality assurance by ensuring timely and accurate lab results.
- Maintain proper documentation of test results and calibrations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- laboratory experience in mining, metallurgy, or steel manufacturing environments.
- Proficient in using lab equipment for chemical and physical analysis.
- Knowledge of international and local standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) for material testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience working in both ferrous and non-ferrous metal testing.
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring in an industrial setting.
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
