Environment Africa Zambia (EAZ) is seeking a qualified and motivated Livelihoods Field Officer for an 18-month contract under the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Children, Youth and Vulnerable Smallholder Households in Southern Province, Zambia, to the Impacts of Climate Change,” funded by Kindernothilfe, Germany.
Based in Zimba District, the successful candidate will support the implementation of activities focused on climate-smart agriculture, nutrition, sustainable forest management, and disaster risk reduction.
Responsibilities or duties
- Implement climate-smart agriculture interventions with small-scale farmers.
- Support community counselling services on nutrition and health issues.
- Assist communities in developing and implementing forest management plans.
- Strengthen and support local Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Satellite Committees.
Qualifications or requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, or a related field.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and community engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience needed
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role, particularly in climate-smart agriculture and community development.
