JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:
The Local Safety Officer ensures the safety of all workers and operations on-site by monitoring safety practices, conducting safety training, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor Safety Practices:
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety standards are followed.
• Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective actions.
Safety Training:
• Provide safety training to employees, including proper use of equipment and PPE.
• Ensure all workers are aware of emergency procedures and protocols.
Incident Reporting:
• Investigate safety incidents, accidents, and near misses.
• Prepare reports on incidents and recommend improvements.
Compliance and Documentation:
• Ensure compliance with local safety laws and regulations.
• Maintain safety records and documentation for audits.
Emergency Response:
• Assist in emergency drills and provide first aid when needed.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: A safety-related qualification is preferred.
• Experience: Experience in safety or health roles, ideally in mining or industrial settings.
• Skills: Good knowledge of safety regulations and emergency procedures.
• Communication: Strong ability to communicate safety guidelines to all workers.
