JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the Job
Responsible for making, repairing, and fitting mechanical components in line with engineering drawings and maintenance of workshop equipment. Also involves operating CNC lathe machine, vertical milling machine, shaping machine and other workshop equipment for training and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Operate machines such as lathes, vertical milling machines, and grinders
- Perform turning, milling, drilling, and grinding operations
- Design, set up, and operate CNC machining systems
- Identify machine faults and perform routine maintenance
- Monitor machine operation and ensure optimal performance
Qualifications & Other Requirements
- Grade 12 School Certificate with five (5) credits
- Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering
- Accreditation certificate with TEVETA
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Machinist
- Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) with a valid practicing license
- Qualifications must be verified by ZAQA
Skills
- Knowledge of technical drawings and documentation
- Knowledge of safety standards
- Knowledge of CNC machining
