JOB DETAILS:

Marshlands Lodges and Apartments Limited, a company wholly owned by the University of Zambia (UNZA), is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following positions at Marshlands Lodges and Apartments Limited under the Business Development Office.

JOB TITLE: MAINTENANCE OFFICER (1 Position)

PURPOSE: Responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds, and infrastructure by performing scheduled, reactive, and preventative maintenance tasks. They may also handle minor repairs, assist with light construction, and coordinate with contractors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

i) Keeps accurate records of maintenance activities and expenses.

ii) Undertakes tasks like changing lightbulbs, repairing minor fixtures, and performing basic plumbing

iii) Undertakes tasks such as painting, minor carpentry, and tiling
iv) Promptly address issues reported by residents or staff.
v) Ensures the building facilities are clean, safe, and well maintained.
vi) Inspects buildings and equipment to identify potential problems.
vii) Liaise with external contractors and ensure their work meets standards
viii) Ensures that safety regulations and procedures were followed.

QUALIFICATIONS

i) Grade 12/Form V School Certificate or its equivalent.
ii) Trade Test Grade 7 in Bricklaying or Craft certificate in Electrical Engineering or Trade Test Grade 7 in Plumbing or Sheet metal or Trade Test Grade 7 in Carpentry and Joinery
iii) Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience.

Level of Education: bachelor degree
