JOB DETAILS:
Zambia Institute of Business Studies and Industrial Practice (ZIBSIP) College invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities or duties
Lead, train, and motivate maintenance staff; assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to college policies. Schedule and carry out routine inspections, repairs, and emergency fixes for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems. Ensure academic blocks and outdoor areas are well-maintained, safe and functional. Supervise external contractors, inspect their work, and enforce compliance with safety and quality standards. Conduct risk assessments, enforce safety working practices, and oversee compliance checks (Fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, etc.). Monitor electricity and water usage; recommend improvements for efficiency and sustainability. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, prepare reports, and update ticketing systems for transparency. Oversee janitorial and gardening staff to maintain cleanliness, order, and beautification of college grounds. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Full Grade 12 Certificate. Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field. Must have a valid Driver’s License. Must be registered with the Engineering Institution of Zambia(EIZ).
Experience needed
Minimum of three (3) years of work experience.
