We are therefore inviting applications to fill the below vacant position for our Kalumbila -Enterprise Site.

1. MAInTENANCE AND RELIABILITY PLANNERS X 2

This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent. Successful candidate will be responsible for the below duties.

Responsibilities

  • Develop weekly, monthly and annual maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Prepare detailed job plans for planned maintenance activities.
  • Plan preventive, predictive, corrective and statutory maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize production interruptions.
  • Develop maintenance shutdown and major overhaul plans.
  • Ensure maintenance work orders are properly scoped, prioritized and scheduled.
  • Identify required labour, tools, equipment, materials and specialist contractors before work is scheduled.
  • Maintain a realistic maintenance backlog and ensure high-priority work is addressed.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and mobile equipment sections.
  • Monitor progress against approved maintenance schedules.
  • Develop and maintain reliability improvement plans for critical mining equipment.
  • Analyze equipment failure history and identify recurring failure trends.
  • Conduct or facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major and repetitive equipment failures.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring failures.
  • Support the implementation of Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM), where applicable.
  • Review equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvement.
  • Monitor Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), equipment availability and reliability trends.
  • Identify critical equipment and establish appropriate maintenance strategies.
  • Review maintenance strategies based on equipment operating conditions and failure history.
  • Comply with company HSE policies, procedures and mining safety standards.
  • Ensure maintenance work is planned with appropriate risk controls.
  • Incorporate Job Safety Analysis (JSA), risk assessments and permit requirements into maintenance planning.
  • Ensure isolation/Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) requirements are considered during job planning.
  • Ensure contractors are appropriately planned and controlled.
  • Report hazards, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
  • Promote safe maintenance practices across the operation.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable Zambian mining and occupational health and safety requirements.

Qualification & Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate with relevant technical qualifications.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant maintenance planning or reliability certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in maintenance planning, reliability engineering or maintenance supervision.
  • Experience in the mining industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with heavy mobile mining equipment, fixed processing plants, electrical systems or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Experience in shutdown/major maintenance planning.
  • Experience in failure analysis and maintenance performance reporting
