WeForest Zambia Ltd was established in 2019 with a mission to deliver holistic forest landscape restoration. WeForest Zambia is headquartered in Ndola, on the Copperbelt, and has four projects under implementation: two in the Copperbelt and two in Muchinga Province.

We are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing & Communications Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent university graduate to gain

hands-on experience where you will engage in various areas including: - communications asset management - social media - digital communication – content creation - storytelling - on the ground content harvesting.

We welcome fresh graduates who have a strong interest in environmental protection, sustainability, community development, and communication. If you are curious, driven, and prepared to learn in a dynamic environment, this opportunity is for you.

Position Overview:

The Marketing & Communication Intern will support daily department operations through administrative coordination, document management, scheduling, and project tracking. You will help ensure communication initiatives are well-organized and properly documented, to support smooth execution and reporting.

The position will be based in the WeForest Zambia Head Office in Ndola; you will support the Head of Marketing and Communications in Europe to manage communications from across the Africa portfolio. The position will also be expected to support in-country needs.

Key Deliverables:

  • Draft and edit content for websites, blogs, newsletters, and social media
  • Support social media management, including scheduling posts and monitoring engagement
  • Assist with internal communications
  • Support the creation of marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, and email campaigns
  • Help maintain brand consistency across all communications
  • Manage and archive department documents (photography, programmatic stories, blogs, ways of working)
  • Assist in preparing quarterly department reports
  • Coordinate story telling formats from our programs by working with local teams and acting as a bridge to the HQ team
  • Support local communication efforts in Zambia

Skills & Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Creative thinking and willingness to learn
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, and Instagram) and digital marketing
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office / Google suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools (desirable)
  • Basic knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, social media insights) is advantageous

Profile

  • Proactive, creative thinker and self-motivated
  • Organised with good time-management skills and able to work with deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to develop professionally
  • Available full-time during the internship (5 days/week)
