About Us:
Trakkers Logistics Limited specializes in the transportation of Fuel, Acid, and Dry Cargo across Zambia and the SADC region. We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team, ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet.
Job Purpose:-
To perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance of vehicles and mechanical systems, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards. Diagnose faults, conduct preventive maintenance, and provide technical support to the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and components (engines, brakes, hydraulics, etc.).
- Diagnose mechanical faults and execute timely repairs.
- Install and test new mechanical systems and parts.
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, lubrication).
- Troubleshoot issues in vehicles used for Fuel, Acid, and Dry Cargo transport.
- Stay updated on advances in mechanical engineering and automotive technologies.
- Document all maintenance/repair work and maintain service records.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, national standards).
- Collaborate with the logistics team to prioritize urgent repairs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Professional Certificate in Automotive Mechanics or equivalent.
- 5–10 years of experience as a Mechanic, preferably in transport/logistics or heavy-duty vehicles.
- Proficiency in using hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to interpret mechanical diagrams and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols for hazardous materials (Fuel, Acid) is an advantage.
