Subject: Request for Expression of Interest (EOI) to Prequalify Mechanical Engineers or Mechanical Engineering Consulting Firms legally registered in Zambia.
Project Overview
The USAID DISCOVER-Health Project implemented by JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (hereafter called JSI) is a USAID funded project whose mandate is to provide quality integrated health services and products to the Zambian people. The project operates in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) to deliver assistance at various levels of the health system, including taking health services to under-served communities. The COVID-19 pandemic has created an added burden on the health system in Zambia. As part of its mandate and with funding from USAID, USAID DISCOVER-Health Implements interventions that support the GRZ's national COVID-19 response.

Purpose:
The objective of this solicitation is to identify qualified individuals or firms interested in the design of Bulk Liquid Oxygen Storage and Delivery System) at one or more major hospitals in Zambia. JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (herein referred to as "JS") is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from national and international reputable qualified individuals or organizations to provide design and oversight services of such a system. This procurement is for the USAID DISCOVER-Health project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Zambia

Those interested individuals or organizations should submit a written Expression of Interest to JSI at the address listed below no later than November 24th November 2021. Those submissions that meet the necessary requirements will prequalify as vendors whilst specific scopes of work are finalised for the required tasks

Minimum Requirements:
1. Individuals
• A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least six (6) years of professional experience in the design of commercial and/or industrial mechanical systems; or
• A Master's (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least five (5) years of professional experience in the design of commercial and/or industrial mechanical systems. A sound knowledge of civil and electrical engineering is an asset.
2. Organizations
• At least ten (10) years of professional experience in the design of commercial and/or industrial mechanical systems

The EOI must contain the following information,
1. Letter of Expression of Interest
2. A current CV or company profile with address and contact information (phone & email)
3. Copies of educational degree(s)
4. A list of mechanical systems designed in the last five to ten years which includes
a. Name and location of the project and client's name and contacts
b. A short description of the project maximum one paragraph
c. Was the design implemented? If so;
The dates of implementation start to finish) 11. Cost of the project in Zambian Kwacha (or US dollars if implemented outside Zambia)
d. At least three (3) recommendations or references, including contact information
5. Copies of current Zambian professional registrations with the Association for Consulting Engineers in Zambia (ACEZ) and Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
