Job Purpose

He will be responsible to manage and maintain mechanical technical support and will play a lead role on maintenance of Soya Extruder, Oil Expeller, TSP Extruders equipment, throughout the plant whilst training local staff.

• Extrusion/Expelling Efficiency: Calculate the ratio of actual TSP output to the theoretical maximum output to assess process efficiency.
• Energy Consumption: Monitor energy usage per unit of TSP produced to identify opportunities for energy optimization.
• Material Loss: Track the amount of raw material lost during the extrusion/expelling process to minimize waste and improve yield.
• Maintenance Downtime: Measure the time spent on maintenance activities to minimize unplanned downtime and ensure optimal machine availability.
• Product Quality: Assess the texture, colour, and consistency of the TSP produced to maintain product quality standards.
• Safety Incidents: Monitor the frequency and severity of safety incidents to ensure a safe working environment for employees.

TSP Hammer Mills:

• Grinding Efficiency: Measure the percentage of target particle size achieved during the grinding process to ensure consistent product quality.
• Throughput Capacity: Monitor the quantity of TSP processed per unit time to meet production demands.
• Equipment Wear: Track the rate of wear on hammer mill components to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Energy Consumption: Monitor energy usage during grinding operations to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Product Uniformity: Assess the uniformity of particle size distribution to maintain product quality standards.
• Material Loss: Measure the amount of product lost during the grinding process to minimize waste and improve yield.
• Noise Levels: Monitor noise levels generated by the hammer mill to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protect worker health.

Preventive Maintenance:

• Maintenance Schedule Adherence: Measure the percentage of planned maintenance tasks completed on schedule to ensure equipment reliability.
• Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF): Track the average time elapsed between equipment failures to assess reliability and inform maintenance intervals.
• Mean Time to Repair (MTTR): Monitor the average time taken to repair equipment failures to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
• Preventive Maintenance Completion Rate: Measure the percentage of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks completed within the specified time frame to prevent unplanned downtime.
• Equipment Health Monitoring: Implement condition monitoring techniques to identify potential equipment issues before they escalate into failures.
• Maintenance Costs: Track the cost of preventive maintenance activities to optimize maintenance budgets and improve cost-effectiveness.
• Maintenance Training: Monitor the effectiveness of maintenance training programs to ensure that maintenance staff are adequately skilled to perform preventive maintenance tasks.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma / ITI / Degree holder in mechanical or related field
• 5+ years’ experience in related field
• Proven Experience as Technician Mechanical, Production, Maintenance & Repair.
• Industry experience in food processing or manufacturing is a plus
• A combination of experience and qualification may be considered
• Good teamworking skills
• English Verbal and written communication skills
• Logical reasoning

• Able to cope under pressure and work towards deadlines

• IT literate with experience of using Microsoft office
