Zalawi Haulage Limited is seeking experienced and reliable candidates to join our dynamic team. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and professional maintenance of the company fleet. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in servicing and repairing Scania, Mercedes, and MAN trucks, and experience working within a transport company environment.

Mechanics (Horse and Trailers) X5

To strip, diagnose faults, maintain, test and repair commercial vehicles including engines, mechanical parts, transmissions, suspension, steering, brakes, tyres and related equipment in order to ensure roadworthiness, safety and maximize availability for use of the company’s fleet whilst complying with relevant health and safety legislation and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and overhauls automobiles and trucks, and other automotive vehicles.
• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions and reports to the workshop Supervisor.
• Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles
• Identify reasons for part failure e.g. Fatigue, incorrect operation etc. and report and concerns to the workshop Supervisor.
• Attend breakdowns timeously and efficiently.
• Ensure all work reported is done to workshop standards before truck is released from workshop.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

• Full grade 12 certificate.
• Relevant qualification relating to mechanical work on Diesel trucks.
• Must be a Zambian citizen with a Green National Registration Card
• 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar environment
