Zambia YMCA is a civil society organisation with a vision of empowering young people for the African Renaissance. Its mission is to translate the principles of the YMCA’s Christian heritage into programs that nurture children and young people, strengthen families, build resilient communities, and promote the development of a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
Zambia YMCA works across four thematic areas: Mental Health, Education, Sustainable Planet, and Youth Justice. As part of its digital engagement and youth empowerment strategy, the organisation is launching a Podcast and Online TV platform to amplify youth voices, strengthen advocacy, and share impactful content across these thematic areas.
Zambia YMCA invites applications from creative, skilled, and mission-driven individuals to fill the position of media intern.
Position Summary
The Media Intern will support the production, editing, and dissemination of digital content for YMCA Online TV and Podcast. The intern will gain hands-on experience in media production while contributing to youth-focused storytelling, advocacy, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and producing content for YMCA Online TV and Podcast
- Support video recording, photography, sound recording, and live broadcasts
- Assist with editing videos, audio podcasts, and social media clips
- Support content uploads and management on YouTube, social media, and digital platforms
- Participate in script writing, storyboarding, and content research
- Support promotion of programs, events, and campaigns
- Maintain basic studio equipment and ensure proper use
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Station Manager
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Youth aged 21–30 years
- Degree/Diploma or pursuing studies in Media, Journalism, ICT, Film, Communications, or related field is an added advantage
- Basic knowledge of video/audio production and editing tools (e.g. Premiere Pro, Audacity, Canva, CapCut, etc.)
- Interest in digital media, storytelling, and youth development
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn, flexibility, and creativity
- YMCA membership is an added advantage
