JOB DETAILS:
To oversee and operate milling equipment in production. This role combines hands-on machine operation with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring optimal machine performance, safety compliance, and job site efficiency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate milling machines to remove pavement, metal, or other materials according to job specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure precision and safety.
- Conduct pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on milling equipment.
- Ensure equipment is operated efficiently and in compliance with company standards.
- Oversee milling crew members and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity to meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate with other site supervisors or departments to align with overall project goals.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, maintenance activities, and crew performance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company-specific safety standards.
Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related program
- 5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance roles within a manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of production and maintenance procedures
- Expertise in preventive and corrective maintenance strategies
- Proficiency in ERP systems for maintenance and inventory management
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
