Background
United Gypsum Investments Limited is a leading manufacturing and mining company in Zambia, specializing in the production of gypsum products and the extraction of mineral resources. As part of our continued commitment to support the Government's job creation efforts, we are looking to recruit suitably qualified, innovative, and dynamic individuals to fill the following vacant positions at our mine located in Monze District, approximately 42 km from the Central Business District (CBD).
The Role
You will provide technical expertise in mine planning, design, and optimization to support safe and efficient extraction. Your work will ensure that operations are geologically sound, environmentally compliant, and economically viable.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare short- and medium-term mine plans and designs.
- Monitor pit stability, geotechnical conditions, and survey activities.
- Assist in production reporting, budgeting, and regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with operations and safety teams to implement best practices.
- Support environmental management and rehabilitation planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mine engineering, preferably in open-pit operations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and report-writing skills.
- Understanding of Zambian mining regulations and safety standards.
- Team-oriented, innovative, and results-driven mindset.
- Valid Zambian Blasting Certificate and familiarity with MSD regulations.
