Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Mine Manager to oversee all mining operations. The role requires a hands-on leader responsible for production targets, safety compliance, mine planning, and team management. A valid Blasting License is mandatory for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management: Plan, direct, and coordinate mining activities to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the Mines Safety Department regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments.
Blasting Operations: Supervise and sign off on all drilling and blasting activities, ensuring compliance with the Blasting License regulations.
Team Leadership: Supervise shift in charges, engineers, and geologists. Conduct tool-box talks and safety meetings.
Resource Management: Manage the utilization of heavy earth-moving machinery (HEMM) to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and progress reports for senior management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
- Valid Blasting License from the Mines Safety Department of Zambia.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in open-pit mining operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of mine planning software and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and crisis management skills.
