Background
United Gypsum Investments Limited is a leading manufacturing and mining company in Zambia, specializing in the production of gypsum products and the extraction of mineral resources. As part of our continued commitment to support the Government's job creation efforts, we are looking to recruit suitably qualified, innovative, and dynamic individuals to fill the following vacant positions at our mine located in Monze District, approximately 42 km from the Central Business District (CBD).
The Role:
You will oversee all mining operations, ensuring safety, productivity, and compliance with national regulations and our environmental commitments. You will lead a team to achieve operational targets while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily mining activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies to achieve zero-harm targets.
- Develop operational plans, budgets, and production schedules.
- Lead, mentor, and develop supervisory staff and mine personnel.
- Ensure compliance with Zambian mining laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with maintenance and processing teams.
- Manage stakeholder relations and community engagement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of open-pit mining, production planning, and mineral processing.
- Valid Zambian Blasting Certificate and familiarity with MSD regulations.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
