Momentum Mining Services Limited is seeking the services of a Mining Engineer to actively participate on projects countrywide. As a key member of the team, you will carry out skilled engineering work at specified locations on designated projects set along the different stages of the mining cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake feasibility studies and assess site viability (including reserve and resource estimates), including commercial viability, taking into account specified criteria.
- Assist with project proposals, reporting, planning, designing and developing methods and structure of mines and material requirements and handling, on specific projects, using appropriate software and systems.
- Monitor projects to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure projects adhere to all aspects of health and safety issues, including selection and use of equipment.
- Overall responsibility for assessment and allocation of supplies.
- Liaise with contractors/suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Subject to specified criteria, set action and targets, appraise and manage performance, development, coaching and general support of all project team members to ensure targets are effectively met.
- Subject to specified criteria, carry out projects in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Carry out projects within specified time limits.
- Ensure compliance to quality standards, policies and procedures, codes and legislation.
- Responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet budgetary controls.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Masters in Mining/Geological Engineering or a related field.
- 5-10 years of relevant work experience in a large scale/blue-chip mine as a Mining Engineer on the Copperbelt & North-Western Provinces or proven experience in a similar role.
- Relevant professional memberships.
- Ability to be mobile/relocate.
