JOB DETAILS:

1. Loader Operator (ST 1030 & XY)

Job Summary:
Responsible for operating underground front-end loaders to transport materials and ore. Must be able to handle loaders like ST 1030 and XY safely and efficiently in an underground mining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate underground loaders in confined mining spaces.
• Load material onto dump trucks and into ore passes.
• Perform daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance.
• Comply with safety regulations and operational procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid operator certificate for ST 1030 and/or XY loaders.
• Minimum of 3 years of underground loader operating experience.
• Good knowledge of safety and equipment handling practices.

2. Boomer Operator

Job Summary:
Operate drilling machines (boomers) to conduct development and production drilling in underground mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately drill holes according to the drilling pattern.
• Conduct regular checks and maintenance on the drilling equipment.
• Ensure safe and effective operation in line with mine plans.
• Record daily drilling progress and report any mechanical issues.

Requirements:

• Valid Boomer Operator Certificate.
• 3+ years of experience operating boomers underground.
• Familiarity with different rock types and drilling conditions.

3. Dump Truck Operator (MT436B & XYUK)

Job Summary:
Drive and operate underground dump trucks, specifically MT436B and XYUK models, to haul ore and waste material safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate dump trucks in underground conditions.
• Adhere to load capacity limits and safe tipping practices.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and minor maintenance.
• Comply with traffic rules and reporting procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid operator license for MT436B and/or XYUK trucks.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in underground haulage.
• Strong awareness of safety in underground mining environments.

4. Charging Unit Operator

Job Summary:
Carry out underground charging and blasting operations using mobile charging units, ensuring compliance with blasting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and charge blast holes with explosives.
• Operate the charging unit safely and according to procedures.
• Maintain detailed records of explosives usage and storage.
• Work closely with shift bosses and mine captains.

Requirements:

• Valid Blasting Licence.
• Experience with mobile charging equipment in underground mining.
• Good knowledge of safe explosives handling procedures.

5. Manitou Operator

Job Summary:
Operate telescopic handlers (Manitou) to support underground and surface operations including lifting, transporting, and placing heavy materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Manitou machinery in tight underground spaces.
• Transport supplies, machine parts, and equipment.
• Perform safety checks and maintain operating logs.
• Assist in loading and offloading at designated zones.

Requirements:

• Valid Manitou Operator Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Awareness of safe lifting practices and underground conditions.

6. TLB Operator

Job Summary:
Operate Tractor Loader Backhoe (TLB) machines to support site construction, excavation, and loading tasks on the mining site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform earthmoving and trenching work using TLB.
• Carry out daily maintenance checks.
• Follow assigned work plans and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with the site supervisor.

Requirements:

• Valid TLB Operator Certificate.
• 2+ years of experience in TLB operations.
• Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting.

7. Land Cruiser Driver

Job Summary:
Transport personnel, tools, and materials between surface and underground work areas using 4x4 Land Cruiser vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely drive on rough terrain and in underground roadways.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and conduct daily checks.
• Follow all company transportation protocols.
• Report mechanical faults promptly.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license (preferably Class C or above).
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience in mining or industrial environments.
• Defensive driving certification is an advantage.

8. Safety Officer

Job Summary:
Monitor and enforce safety standards on site. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site inspections and risk assessments.
• Enforce compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Provide training and induction for workers.
• Investigate incidents and produce safety reports.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in a mining or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of Zambian occupational safety regulations.
