Job Description
As an NPO Engineer at Nokia, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our multi-vendor Radio Network, focusing primarily on 4G and extending your expertise to 2G and 3G systems. How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
You are expected to carry out following responsibilities in a multi-vendor environment:
- Optimize multi-vendor Radio Networks (2G, 3G, 4G & 5g preferred) to meet and exceed performance KPIs as per SLA, focusing primarily on 4G systems.
- Conduct thorough analysis of worst cell performance, implementing effective troubleshooting and enhancement strategies.
- Engage with customers to gather requirements, address concerns, and deliver innovative solutions during technical discussions.
- Tune multi-layer, multi-technology Radio Network parameters to maximize coverage, quality, capacity, and user experience.
- Perform root cause analysis for complex e2e issues and provide actionable solutions for rectification and improvement.
- Generate comprehensive SLA KPI reports, facilitating SSV/Cluster optimization and acceptance procedures.
- Guide customers through activation plans, KPI monitoring, and evaluation of proposed changes while serving as the primary optimization interface.
- Collaborate in a team environment, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Participate and drive Nokia Radio ongoing activities.
- Fine tune Radio Parameters for Network Quality Improvement to meet customer set KPI targets
- Plan Radio Network Parameters for new sites
- Prepare and analyse Radio Network Performance Indicators and Counters Reports
- Carry out Physical Site Optimization
- Carry out Drive Test Activities whenever needed
- Coordinate various projects from Radio Network point of view
- Perform Site Acceptance for new integrations including new sites and expansion sites
- Supervise Drive Test projects by third parties
- Preparation and maintenance of Radio Network Site Database.
- Radio Network Optimization on 2G, 4G/VoLTE & 5G
- Multivendor (Ericsson and Nokia at least) expertise of 2G, 4G and 5G Optimization tools
- Drive Test with NEMO tools
- Drive Test Post processing with NEMO Analyzer and Actix
- Analysis of end to end call traces of LTE/VoLTE/2G
- Familiarity with OSS tools, reporting solution, counters & parameters and Feature implementation
- Analysis of RAN KPIs, investigation and improvement of network quality problems
- Implementation of new RAN features, and tuning of RAN database parameters
- Experience with Eden Net SON (Optimizer).
- To develop various guideline, process documents & XML/Data build creation on need basis
- Good understanding of Handover, Power Control, MIMO, Link Adaptation, Paging, Admission Control, Scheduler, Idle & Connected mode procedures etc & corresponding call flows wherever applicable.
- Knowledge and experience of working on Smart Antenna Schemes such as MIMO, Beamforming etc
- Knowledge and experience of working on Remote Radio Head environment is advantageous.
Key Skills And Experience
You are expected to possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or relevant field
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in RF Planning & Optimization for 2G, 3G, LTE/VoLTE, and 5G networks
- Strong expertise in Ericsson and Nokia Radio Access technologies and OSS platforms
- Ability to conduct in-depth analysis and troubleshooting from radio network statistics and Layer 3 traces
- Experience in customer management and care to maximise customer satisfaction
- Ability to multitask, work independently and coordinate resources to achieve desired goals.
- Must be willing to work in different time zones and open for travel
It would be nice if you also had:
Experience with Drive-Test log analysis and proficiency in NPO tools
- Knowledge of multi-layer, multi-technology Radio Network Parameter tuning
- Strong skills in MS Office suite, including PowerPivot, Power BI, and Power Automate
