JOB DETAILS:

The Network Administrator is responsible for the provision of network and communication related support to the Authority. The position administers allocated communication and networking equipment, server infrastructure and all communications platforms to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ICT services employed in the administration of member funds.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide helpdesk assistance in resolving software, hardware and network-related problems. 
• Assist in equipment set-up and software installation and updates. 
• Assist in maintenance of telephone systems.
• Manage inventory of networking equipment software licences. 
• Update regularly emails and phone numbers of users. 
• Maintain both internal and external company networks. 
• Assist in the configuration and setup of firewalls, VPN concentrators and security appliances for access to vital business applications. 
• Assist in the design, setup and configuration of complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access. 
• Make recommendations for future network upgrades and optimisations. 
• Maintain network and system security. 
• Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues. 
• Maintain integrity and performance of the enterprise network. 
• Design and deploy networks; Maintain network servers such as file servers and VPN gateways. 
• Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services. 
• Apply network security upgrades and patches.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels with credit or better in Mathematics and English
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 
• Cisco Certified Network Associate or any Relevant IT Certification
• Must be a member of the Information and Communication Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) with a valid practicing license. 

Minimum Experience Required

• Not less than three (3) years of relevant IT experience at a similar level in an organisation of similar size.
