Responsibilities or duties
The key responsibilities for this role include but not limited to the following:
- Maintain all MTN Zambia buildings, grounds, and service centres in excellent condition, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with standards.
- Implement and manage access control systems, including programming access cards and enforcing security protocols.
- Plan, install, and maintain surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras, alarms, and other security devices to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct regular security drills and promptly report any breaches to management and law enforcement authorities.
- Prepare and execute annual preventive maintenance plans for plumbing, electrical systems, and general building infrastructure.
- Supervise electrical, plumbing, and carpentry works, ensuring adherence to safety standards and MTN policies.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance evaluations, and compliance monitoring.
- Ensure timely payment of utility bills (electricity, water) and regulatory fees for all MTN sites, including data centres.
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as fire incidents, lift evacuations, and other urgent facility-related situations.
- Support budget preparation and cost control for facilities and security operations, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Grade 12 certificate with 5 credit or better of which English and Mathematics are a must
- Degree in business, engineering or related field
- Licensed with Zambia Institute of Valuation Surveyors / Zambia Institute of Estate Agents
Experience needed
- Two (2) years’ experience in a fast-paced office environment within a similar environment
