Overview

One of our clients is looking for an experienced chef to join their team of fine chefs. The client is a beautiful well-established Lodge located in a game farm within Lusaka, Zambia. The lodge has a fine dining space with a well-stocked bar and luxury chalets stationed inside their game park allowing clients to see wildlife whether they are relaxing on their veranda or enjoying a delicious meal.
An ideal candidate would be someone that is energetic and is passionate about food with the ability to create delicious meals for consumers.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure consistent and smooth running of food production
• Ensure effective stock purchase, its receipt and storage
• Ensure that working areas are always kept clean
• Assist other kitchen staff as need arises
• Perform other administrative tasks as will be communicated by superiors
• Ensure that required standards are adhered to in the production and preparation of food – in quality, quantity, and safety
• Work towards exceeding customer’s expectation by encouraging and promoting high level of service
• Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specification and served at the correct quality, portion size, and temperature
• Manage food logs
• Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared

Qualifications:
• Must have formal culinary training
• Must have at least 1 – 2 years experience working in a professional kitchen or similar position
• Passion for food: someone who enjoys the process of food preparation and creating menus
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work with figures and manage budget
• Ability to cope under stressful conditions
• Ability to pay attention to details: adherence to specific ingredients and measurement needed for various menus
• Ability to make quick decisions
• Ability to maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in the restaurant area
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to be creative; always willing to try something new
• Ability to handle criticisms from customers


Arable General Manager
Overview

A large Commercial Farming Business in Southern Province, Zambia, seeks to employ the services of an enthusiastic & progressive manager for their business to hands-on manage, oversee, co-ordinate the arable/cropping operations.
The candidate will take full responsibility for the arable section of the company. This includes the Cropping and Pecan orchard sections.

Requirements;
Education/Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Agriculture or similar farming management
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Cropping
• The ideal candidate would have sound knowledge of Farming, particularly potato and row cropping (maize, wheat, barley, soy).
Pecan Orchards
• Experience with Tree nut crops would be beneficial, but no a requirement.
General
• Administrative, financial and project or operational management experience.
• Extensive farming experience; Minimum ten years farming experience.
• Minimum five years of managerial/leadership experience leading a team of > 50 people
• Strong MS Office knowledge. Computer skills & the ability to maintain computer records of the herd are essential. Experienced with Cattle management programs will be advantageous.
• A Valid recognised driver’s licence and able to drive a motorbike

Housekeeper
Overview

One of our clients is looking for an experienced House keeper to join their hospitality team. The client is a beautiful well-established Lodge located in a game farm within Lusaka, Zambia. The lodge has a fine dining space with a well-stocked bar and luxury chalets stationed inside their game park allowing clients to see wildlife whether they are relaxing on their veranda or enjoying a delicious meal.
An ideal Housekeeper would have to be someone who has a keen eye for detail while handling vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sweeping duties in our rooms and public areas. We aim at creating amazing quality experiences for our guests while maintaining a respectable reputation. Some of the duties you will be expected to perform are as follows:

Duties and responsibilities:
• Performs cleaning duties in all guest areas and back of house
• Change linens and towels and replace toiletries
• Provide laundry services for guests
• Collaborate with the housekeeping team to complete the daily cleaning schedule
• Restock cleaning supplies in the hand cart
• Report any issues that require maintenance
• Make beds and ensure bathrooms are clean
• Take away room service items, dirty linen, and trash
• Perform check on all room appliances to ensure they are in good working condition
• Adjust furniture, desk items, and appliances when necessary
• Carry out floor care duties in hallway and guest rooms, and vacuum carpets
• Adhere to all safety, security, and company procedures and policies
• Ensure flammable materials are properly stored
• Keep proprietary information confidential
• Ensure company standards are followed in welcoming and acknowledging all guests
• Genuinely appreciate and thank guests for their visit
• Apply professional language in communicating with guests and other people
• Provide support to team to achieve common goals
• Maintain quality standards and expectations

Qualifications:
• At least 2+ years experience working as a housekeeper
• Strong ability to pull and push work-related equipment, such as a loaded housekeeping cart over uneven and sloping surfaces
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, or kneel for a long period of time
• Strong knowledge of cleaning supplies and procedures
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Possess high school diploma or its equivalent educational level
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable

Front of House/ Receptionist
Overview

One of our clients is looking for an experienced Front of house /Receptionist to join their team and help serve as the company’s guests’ first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation. The company will also require you to manage the administration aspect of the Lodge. The client is a beautiful well-established Lodge located in a game farm within Lusaka, Zambia. The lodge has a fine dining space with a well-stocked bar and luxury chalets stationed inside their game park allowing clients to see wildlife whether they are relaxing on their veranda or enjoying a delicious meal. An ideal candidate would be someone smart, quick on their feet and can easily adapt.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Greet and welcome all guests and assist them with check-in and check-out
• Maintain a positive attitude and friendly demeanor
• Respond to all guest questions and requests
• Answer and forward phone calls
• Manage guest bookings and reservations
• Register guests and collect necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
• Provide information about our lodge, available rooms, rates and amenities
• Keep a tidy and orderly workspace
• Assist with administrative and clerical tasks as needed
• Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
• Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
• Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
• Maintain updated records of bookings and payments

Requirements:
• At least 3 years’ experience working as a hotel receptionist or guest services role
• High school diploma, Hospitality certificate, Hotel management or any other suitable equivalent
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other necessary computer programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Fluency in English
• Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude even under high pressure
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skill
