JOB DETAILS:
Operations Director
Nampak Zambia Limited – with its Head Office in Lusaka and plants in Lusaka and Ndola is a supplier of packaging materials in Zambia and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nampak Limited.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a permanent and pensionable position. You will be responsible for overseeing effective operating procedures across the company.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Liase with the Managing Director to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals.
• Plan and monitor the day to day running of the business to ensure smooth progress.
• Supervise managers from different departments and provide constructive feedback.
• Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organization objectives and apply improvements.
• Liase with departmental heads to develop financial plans and ensure company-wide operational compliance.
• Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation.
• Oversee customer support processes and organise them to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability. Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation.
• Manage relationships/agreement with external partners/vendors.
• Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics
• Ensure legality and conformity to established regulations.
• Monitor and improve OEE’s and drive down waste cost.
• Monitor and control maintenance spend.
• Create creative and practical solutions to increase employee productivity and maximize profitability

Essential/Desirable Qualification/Experience
• A post graduate degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering,
• Membership of professional body.
• 10 years post qualification work experience in at senior management level
• Excellent manufacturing and business acumen will be an advantage.

Skill Specifications:
• Proven experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Analytical and problem-solving skils with excellent financial analysis skills
• Outstanding communication and people skills.
• Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines.
• In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. manufacturing, supply chain, finance and commercial).
• Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operations matrix.
• Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that may influence the business.
• Good interpersonal skills and Proactive and ability to see the bigger Picture”
