Responsibilities or duties

Observing equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation.

Examining and testing Centre Pivots and their components, and parts for defects, and to ensure proper functioning.

Adjusting, connecting, or disconnecting wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand tools or power tools.

Installing or replacing parts using hand tools or power tools.

Cleaning or lubricating machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.

Applying protective materials to the parts of the Pivots to prevent defects and corrosion.

Disassemble broken or defective parts to facilitate repair; reassemble parts when repairs are complete.

Assisting more skilled workers involved in the adjustment, maintenance, part replacement, and repair of Centre Pivots.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Grade 9/ Grade 12 Certificate

Must be able to communicate in an efficient and clear manner

Able to resolve issues within the farm

Basic mechanical knowledge

Experience needed

3 years of relevant work experience
