JOB DETAILS:
Job description:
Overall Job Purpose
• Assist in establishing accurate records of all daily production against targets, Monitoring contractor plant hours and Budgets.

Specific Job Responsibility
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
• Estimate the quantity and costs of materials
• Prepare contracts and documents
• Set budgets for payments, inventory needs, and materials
• Track changes in plans or constructions; update budgets
• Control hours and measurement of contractors and subcontractors
• Hire and document contractors and subcontractors
• Keep track of materials and inventory
• Identify potential financial or construction risks
• Advise Department on improvements, strategies, and/or estimated costs
• Prepare payments for contractors and subcontractors
• Document progress, materials, and reports on project
• Utilize software to calculate, record, and track inventory and estimates
• Track and analyse contract progress versus planned with MS projects

Job Specific Competencies
• Proficient in computer skills and MS projects
• Strong aptitude for numbers, spread sheets, and Project reports.
• Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills
• In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry
• Able to analyse problems and strategize for better solution

• Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate with staff who aren’t technically trained
• Self-disciplined, motivated and organized
• Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload
• Ability to interact effectively across diverse cultures and at all levels
• Ability to work un-supervised on different projects simultaneously
• Ability to multi-task when executing different projects

Experience required to perform in this job
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in General Civil/ Earthworks estimating experience, construction experience, or related field

Qualifications
• Full Grade 12 Certificate (minimum of 5 O’levels)
• Degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering, management, or related field
• 3-5 years of general Civil Earthworks/construction estimating experience, construction experience, or related field

Level of Education:
Associate Degree
