JOB DETAILS:
MEF is looking for a Plumber on contractual basis at Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation Campus in Mindolo Kitwe. S/he will be responsible for the effective running of the water works and performing general plumbing works. The successful candidate will also be required to conduct training activities in plumbing.
Reports to: The Head of Maintenance

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be required among other duties to:
• Coordinating all training activities for the certificate course in plumbing
• Understanding the blueprints or pipeline plans on campus
• Following current rules and regulations related to plumbing
• Planning, executing and coordinating all plumbing activities on campus
• Preparing budgets and estimating cost for works to be undertaken at all times
• Keeping and maintaining records of time spent on a job and materials purchased for the work
• Installing, maintaining and repairing pipes including joins, valves, drains and fixtures in all types of structures
• Responding to plumbing emergencies, determining the issue and making repairs
• Performing regular maintenance of plumbing systems to prevent emergencies
• Ensuring that there is regular supply of water on campus and seeing to it the water works is up and running at all times

Qualification and Experience
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate/GCE/Form Five (5)
• Minimum Diploma in plumbing
• TEVETA Accredited Trainer
• At least Two (2) years working experience

Desirable Skills and Abilities
• Able to teach
• Proficiency with hand and power tools specific to the plumbing trade
• Working familiarity with plumbing materials and their appropriate use
• Ability to effectively carry out plumbing techniques & skills
• Ability to show initiative
• Must possess strong organizational skills
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
• Have a strong sense of personal and work accountability
• Able to multitask
• Team Player
