Background

Kamimbi Aqua Feed Limited (Formerly known as Aller Aqua Zambia Ltd) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Procurement Officer. These roles are based at the Kamimbi Aqua Feed mill, in Siavonga, Zambia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate and procure goods, machinery spare parts, and services required for production and operational activities.
  • Manage the procurement of technical equipment, plant machinery components and engineering spare parts required for feed mill operations.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions, requests for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders and supplier contracts.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and maintain strong relationships with reliable vendors.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and internal controls.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with stores and production departments to ensure timely replenishment of critical materials.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines and contractual terms with suppliers to achieve cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely receipt of goods.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure correct specification of machinery and technical equipment.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation and supplier databases.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved procurement practices.
  • Ensure all procured goods meet quality standards and operational requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Full Grade Twelve School Certificate (GCE)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
  • Experience in procurement of machinery parts, mechanical components, engineering supplies or technical equipment is highly desirable.
  • Basic technical knowledge of machinery and mechanical components used in industrial or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and cost management abilities.
  • Good understanding of procurement policies and supply chain procedures.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet procurement deadlines.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.
