JOB DETAILS:
Reports to Head Procurement and stores. The incumbent is responsible for clearing and forwarding activities.

Main duties
• Submission of all pre-alert documents to the clearing agent of shipping document from international suppliers
• Clearing of imported goods at the point of entry as per customs charter
• Prepares and submits weekly customs and procurement reports sources and procures goods, works and service
• Manages customs documentation for clearing and forwarding
• Liaising with the shipping company on all issues with consignment
• Regular reporting and updates to key stakeholders across the business on all imported and exported orders/ shipment
• Coordinate Forwarding Operations with local, regional and international offices
• Service clients by advising on most effective and efficient mode of cargo movement, most appropriate routes, legislative requirements and educates on emerging trends in the industry
• Liaises with various transporters as well as other third parties for the best rates
• Works closely with, Shipping lines, customers, work colleagues and third parties including various ports and port authorities

Qualifications
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding/Procurement or relevant equivalent
• 3 years relevant work experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid Practicing License
