Mission of the role:
As a Product Support Technician, your primary mission is to provide expert technical support to all OBK customers. You will ensure machine reliability and optimal equipment availability, deliver parts support, and enhance customer satisfaction through proactive service delivery. All this will be done in strict adherence to Epiroc’s standards and safety protocols.
Your Mission:
- Ensure IMS compliance with zero Lost Time Injuries and zero environmental pollution.
- Maintain OBK equipment through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to achieve >85% availability.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, ensuring machine reliability of 60+ hours post-service.
- Respond to breakdowns and service calls quickly to minimize downtime and restore safe operations.
- Support commissioning, start-ups, upgrades, rebuilds, and field demonstrations of OBK equipment.
- Deliver customer training on safe use, maintenance routines, and best practices.
- Conduct RCA on failures, implement corrective actions, and drive reliability improvements.
- Document service activities
Your Profile:
To be successful in this role, you should bring:
- Strong technical expertise and hands-on experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, commissioning, and repair of OBK drilling and exploration equipment, covering hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Broad understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance methodologies tailored to mining and exploration contexts.
- Ability to interpret detailed OEM manuals, technical drawings, hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and service bulletins with accuracy.
- Proven skills in fault-finding and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to diagnose and resolve equipment failures with sustainable corrective actions.
- A relevant diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Heavy Equipment, Mining, Industrial, or related Engineering disciplines.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the maintenance and field service of mining, drilling, or exploration equipment, preferably specific to OBK products.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites in remote or challenging locations.
