The Africa Impact Investing Group is an active and vibrant community of actors working on the ground with policy makers, investors, entrepreneurs, and civil society to drive capital to where it can have the most impact, while delivering financing returns.

The Programme Assistant – Programmes, Brand & Communications will provide programme coordination, administrative, communications, and logistical support to the AIIG Secretariat. The role will support the effective implementation and coordination of AIIG programmes, events, meetings, and stakeholder engagements while ensuring that AIIG’s brand and communications standards are consistently applied across programme outputs. The role requires a highly organised, proactive, detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple priorities, coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and produce high-quality written and visual communications.

Responsibilities or duties

Programme Coordination & Administration

  • Provide day-to-day coordination and administrative support to AIIG programmes and projects.
  • Support the coordination of board, executive committee (EXCO), programme meetings, workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Coordinate meeting invitations, reminders, logistics, and follow-up actions.
  • Take accurate meeting notes and circulate minutes and action points within agreed timelines.
  • Follow up actions with EXCO, board members, programme teams and partners on outstanding actions and deliverables.
  • Maintain organised programme files and documentation on Google Drive.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual programme updates.
  • Assist with collecting programme data and evidence for reporting and communications.
  • Support the planning and coordination of stakeholder consultations, strategic sessions and high-level engagements.

Brand and Communication Oversight

  • Develop and maintain AIIG’s annual communications calendar, coordinating content across digital channels, newsletters, and partner networks in alignment with programme milestones and the AIS convening cycle.
  • Draft, review, and quality-assure external-facing materials — including press releases, stakeholder updates, summit communications, and social media content — ensuring a consistent, authoritative, and data-led brand voice.
  • Manage AIIG’s digital presence, including website updates, email communications, and LinkedIn engagement, tracking audience growth and content performance against defined targets.
  • Liaise with any appointed design or communications agencies to manage the production of institutional materials, event collateral, and summit outputs to the required standard.
  • Monitor and report on AIIG’s communications reach and brand visibility across key stakeholder audiences, providing quarterly updates to the CEO.
