Job Details
- Position: Project Manager/Institutional Representative
- Location: Mpika (with frequent travel to Lavushimanda)
- Contract: Fixed-term (12 months, renewable)
- Start Date: September 2025
- Status: National hire
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
1. Institutional Representation
- Develop and implement AVSF’s country strategy in line with organizational policies
- Represent AVSF before government authorities, donors, and partners
- Lead advocacy, communication, and partnership development
- Identify and negotiate new funding opportunities
2. Project Management
- Oversee project planning, implementation, and financial/logistical management
- Coordinate the project team (Field Technician & Finance Officer)
- Work closely with Expertise France/AFD consultant & Forestry Department
- Ensure monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to donors
- Manage human resources, recruitment, and performance evaluations
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in agronomy, agro-economy, forestry, or local development
- Minimum 5 years in project/program coordination (NGO or similar)
- 3+ years in NTFP value-chain development
- Experience in training design for SMEs & producer groups
- Proven track record in multi-stakeholder project planning & evaluation
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, analytical, and writing skills
- Ability to work with producer groups, government, and NGOs
- Experience in participatory rural development approaches
- Fluent in English (written & spoken); Bemba is a plus
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Adaptable, team-oriented, and field-focused
