JOB DETAILS:

• Overview:
  The International Hospital of Zambia (IHZ) is a premier healthcare provider driving transformation in healthcare standards across Zambia. IHZ is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Public Relations and Communications Officer to enhance its reputation and visibility.
• Employment Type: Full-Time, 2-year renewable contract
  Location: Fairview Hospital Site, Lusaka
  Working Hours: 48 hours per week
• Job Purpose:
  To develop and implement strategic communication and media plans to enhance the hospital’s reputation, visibility, and international platforms.
• Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute media outreach campaigns aligned with the hospital’s goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries.
  • Craft compelling narratives that promote the hospital’s initiatives.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, feature stories, etc.
• Key Performance Indicators:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, government agencies, and community health programs.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in public relations or communications.
  • Must be a registered member of the Public Relations Association of Zambia (PRAZ).
• Knowledge and Skills:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms.
  • Excellent listening and planning abilities.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 60

Level of Education: bachelor degree
